Published on September 22nd, 2016

Wakayama, Japan (September 22, 2016) – Daniel Frost’s German team on JJOne placed seventh in today’s only race, but holds a firm advantage heading into the finale tomorrow of the J/24 World Championship. Two Japanese teams – Keiji Kondo’s Fox and Demichi Kousuke’s Ichimokusan – are tied on 25 points, 12 points off the lead.

The 41 teams were postponed onshore today for three hours, waiting for the wind to fill in. When it did at 6 knots, Tomomi Hatekeyama’s Gekko Diana (JPN) won the sixth race, trailed by Vladimir Borsthar’s Singapore (SIN) and Kousuke’s Ichimokusan.

Ten races are scheduled on September 19 to 23, with a boat’s series score the total of her race scores excluding her worst score.
