The 35th Lake Garda Optimist Meeting on April 13-16 attracted 1063 competitors to Fraglia Vela Riva in Riva del Garda, Italy. Classified as the largest single-class regatta in the world, the Junior Division (born from 2002 to 2005) was dominated by Stephan Baker (USA), taking the title with a race to spare. Top North American in the Cadet Division (born in years 2006,2007 and 2008) was Freddie Parkin (USA) in fourth.
