A ferry that covered the route between the two capitals of the Canary Islands violently rammed the dock of the Nelson Mandela quay on April 21, 2017. Thirteen of the 140 ferry passengers were injured.
The damage is estimated to be two million euros, with the impact breaking pipelines which released fuel, forcing the closure of beaches between the capital and the Bay of Gando in Telde.
The cause of the accident was attributed to a power failure within the electrical system.
