On this week’s “World on Water” global sailing news show:
In this episode, the start of the Land Rover Sydney-Gold Coast Race saw the first race of Peter Harburg’s Super Maxi – the previous Alfa Romec/Esimit Europa – Reichel/Pugh 100 footer Black Jack lose out to sister Wild Oats XI. Named after his good friend and multiple Formula 1 world champion driver/designer Jack Brabham, the race was one of learning and his crew ere only under four minutes behind their arch rival Wild Oats XI in Southport on Queensland’s Gold Coast. Last week also saw the start of Lendy Cowes Week in the UK Days 1-2, US Youth Championships, WMRT in Russia, the PWA world Tour is in Fuerteventura in Spain’s Canary Islands, and the GC 32 Tour is in beautiful Palma Mallorce Spain.
