New leader at I14 Worlds

Published on August 19th, 2018

Richmond, CA (August 19, 2018) – The third day at the 2018 International 14 World Championships saw a change-up as disaster struck Andy and Tom Partington to knock them off the top of the leaderboard. After winning the first two races, their rudder had a failure when the foil came loose, costing them about 20 boats to finish 25th in the race and drop them down to 8th overall.

David Hayter/ Trent Neighbour (AUS) took over the race lead after the first lap to take the victory while countrymen Lindsay Irwin/ Andrew Perry finished second and now hold the overall lead.

Seven races are planned from August 17 to 24. When 6 or more races have been completed, a boats series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score.
