RYA gets out of Powerboat Racing

The Royal Yachting Association (RYA), as the British national body for all forms of boating, which has included dinghy and yacht racing, motor and sail cruising, RIBs and sports boats, powerboat racing, windsurfing, canal and river boat cruising, and personal watercraft, will no longer act as the national authority for powerboat racing in the UK. This decision by RYA’s Board, with effect from January 1 2019, followed a review of the status of the sport and an evaluation of the risks and responsibilities associated with acting as the national authority.
