Stanford overhauls coaching staff
Published on August 3rd, 2019
Following the college admissions scandal that implicated the Stanford Sailing program and head coach John Vandemoer, the program has overhauled its staff for the 2019-20 season. Gone is Clinton Hayes, who was the interim head coach for Stanford, and in comes new head coach Brian Swingly who held the same position at the Coast Guard Academy for the past ten years. Joining the staff as assistants are Chris Klevan, who was an assistant on Swingly’s staff at Coast Guard for the last six years, and Nic Baird, reigning College Sailor of the Year (Yale ’19).
