World Sailing Rankings – December 2019

The World Sailing Rankings seek to establish an order of ability based on the results of certain events over a 24 month period. The rankings focus on the 10 Olympic events and Open and Women’s Match Racing.

In match racing, Eric Monnin (SUI) closes the year in first followed by Nick Egnot-Johnson (NZL) with Ian Williams (GBR) in third. Among the women, Pauline Courtois (FRA) remains at the front of the field with Anna Oestling (SWE) in second and Johanna Bergqvist (SWE) in third. Top North Americans are Nicole Breault (USA) and Chris Poole (USA) in 4th and 8th, respectively.

The fleet racing rankings  in which the North Americans are in the top 20 include Canadians Tom Ramshaw (11th, Finn) and Sarah Douglas (19th, Laser Radial) and from the USA are: Stu McNay/ Dave Hughes (8th, 470 Men), Paige Railey (13th, USA), Erika Reineke (14th, Laser Radial), Stephanie Roble/ Maggie Shea (8th, 49erFX Women), Charlie Buckingham (9th, Laser), Luke Muller (18th, Finn), Caleb Paine (20th, USA), and Riley Gibbs/ Anna Weis (17th, Nacra 17).
