Twenty cities vie for 2026 Gay Games

Twenty cities from 14 countries have expressed an interest in hosting the 2026 edition of the Gay Games. Held every four years, the Federation of Gay Games received a record number of expressions of interest, with eight of the cities from North America.
The 11th edition of this multi-sport event will be Hong Kong 2022 in which Sailing is among the 36 sports to be held. The 2018 Gay Games took place in the French capital of Paris (above).
As of February 29, 2020, the interested cities are: Brisbane, Australia; São Paulo, Brazil; Toronto, Canada; Munich, Germany; Dublin, Ireland; Guadalajara, Mexico; Amsterdam, Netherlands; Auckland, New Zealand; Lisbon, Portugal; Cape Town, South Africa; Durban, South Africa; Valencia, Spain; Taipei, Taiwan; Liverpool, UK; Austin, USA; Fort Lauderdale, USA; Minneapolis, USA; New Orleans, USA; San Diego, USA; Seattle, USA.
