Early start for Atlantic hurricane season

(May 17, 2020) – Tropical Storm Arthur is tracking off the Southeast U.S. coast and will pass near North Carolina’s Outer Banks on May 18. With rain and gusty winds up to 50+ knots, this formation yesterday marks the sixth year in a row that a storm will have developed before the start of the Atlantic hurricane season on June 1.
