Redo for Melges 24 Worlds in Charleston

Published on May 22nd, 2020

After needing to cancel the 2020 Melges 24 World Championship due to the coronavirus pandemic, which was to be held May 1-9 in Charleston, SC, the International Melges 24 Class Association has confirmed the 2021 World title will be held in Charleston, SC.

“I’d like to thank Randy Draftz for his willingness to pull together Melges 24 Worlds in Charleston in 2021 after all his hard work and stress over planning and then unwinding 2020,” said Laura Grondin, the Chair of the International Melges 24 Class Association. “Melges 24 Worlds 2021 will be a week or two following the 2021 Charleston Race Week scheduled to be held on April 4-11.”

This decision changes the 2021 World Championship location which had been planned to be held June 18-26 in Aarhus, Denmark. The Danes will now host the 2022 title.
