Sail Canada cancels 2020 youth calendar
Published on June 1st, 2020
Due to the exceptional situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, Sail Canada announced the cancellation of all 2020 Regional Championships and the 2020 Sail Canada Youth Championships.
Sail Canada is continuing to closely monitor the coronavirus (COVD-19) situation and is in contact with Public Health Canada and the various national and international sailing organizations. Given the evolution of the pandemic in Canada, the recommendations from Public Health, and the recommendations in place limiting travel between regions and provinces, Sail Canada believes that it must postpone/cancel these events to ensure the health and safety of everyone involved.
One of the major goals of the Sail Canada Regional Championships is to create an environment where youth sailors from each region can come together, to train, race, and learn from each other. The ultimate goal of Sail Canada during these challenging times is to keep all members of the sailing community healthy and safe.
