2020 J/88 North Americans is cancelled

The J/88 Class Association and St. Francis Yacht Club (San Francisco, CA) have determined, because of the varying levels of infection and disruption across the world, to cancel the 2020 J/88 North American Championship scheduled for September 17-20.

Planned to be held in conjunction with the 2020 Rolex Big Boat Series, the regional J/88 Fleet still plans to participate but the event will be used to award the West Coast Championship.

“The regional Fleet looks forward to the Rolex Big Boat Series each year, as it is known for great competition, camaraderie and an unbeatable venue,” said Gary Panariello, J/88 Class Officer from Sausalito, CA. “The Class wants to make sure the North American Championship is a great competition, and in the current circumstances, participants from the North American fleet cannot fairly compete due to travel restrictions imposed by COVID-19.”

The 2021 North American Championship will be raced as part of the 2021 Rolex Big Boat Series in San Francisco, CA.
