New Bermuda to Plymouth World Record

The World Sailing Speed Record Council has confirmed the establishment of a new Bermuda to Plymouth World Record. The MOD70 Argo, skippered by Brian Thompson (GBR) and a crew of Chad Corning, Charlie Ogletree, Westy Barlow, Pete Cumming, and Alister Richardson, covered the 2870 nm course on June 4-9, 2021 in 04:19:29:24 (avg. speed 24.85 knots) Argo bettered the previous record set May 2016 by skipper Lloyd Thornburg (USA) and crew on the MOD70 Phaedo 3 of 05:11:57:17.
