Sam Ingham wins 2021 Thistle Nationals

Published on August 6th, 2021

Cleveland, OH (August 6, 2021) – After a lack of wind yesterday, Lake Erie delivered flat water and a strong, southerly breeze blowing off Rocky River for the final day at the 2021 Thistle US National Championship. The day also delivered excitement as Sam Ingham and his crew Jonathan Duffett and Tanya Cuprak overcame a nine point deficit to take the championship.

Defending champion Greg Griffin had been the leader since the qualifying stage, but stumbled hard today with a 9-33, opening the door for four teams to march past in the overall standings.

Racing was held on August 2-6.
