PHOTOS: A long way from home

Despite Henri being downgraded from a hurricane before reaching New England, its tropical storm status was enough to dislodge of Block Island’s iconic 1BI bell buoy from its location off North Reef.

As a notable mark used during Block Island Race Week, 1BI was torn from its chains on August 22 and sent 10 miles away on Matunuck Beach in South Kingstown, Rhode Island.
