2021 Trofeo Princesa Sofia cancelled

Published on September 2nd, 2021

The 2021 Trofeo Princesa Sofía Mallorca announced the cancellation of the regatta scheduled on October 2-9 in Palma de Majorca, Spain.

This decision was made following careful consideration of the tight autumn season regatta calendar with unavoidable clashes of dates that have had an impact on the number of entries as well as the complexity of international travel in some parts of the world.

The event is typically considered the start of the European Olympic season but was among the first events in 2020 to cancel due to COVID-19. For 2021, due to the status of the global pandemic, the Organizing Committee made the decision to postpone from March 26-April 3 but now the verdict is to cancel.

The 2022 edition is being planned for April 2-9.
