Hampton, VA (October 22, 2021) – Two more races were completed on day two of the 2021 J/111 World Championship hosted by Hampton Yacht Club. After five total races, still leading the seven J/111s is Rodrick Jabin’s Ramrod.
The Annapolis, Maryland-based team rebounded from a last place finish in today’s opening contest to win the next one and end the day with 12 points. The third race of the day was abandoned due to a dying breeze. Andrew and Sedgwick Ward’s Bravo stands in second place with 18 points, two ahead of a surging Peter Wagner’s Skeleton Key.
Beginning the day triumphantly was Wagner’s Skeleton Key, trailed by Jeff Davis’ Shamrock and Bill and Jackie Baxter’s Fireball. Jabin’s Ramrod notched their third bullet of the regatta in race five, ahead of Rob Ruhlman’s Spaceman Spiff and the Baxters.
An 11 race series is scheduled on October 21-24.
