Massive trade show returns to Germany

Published on October 29th, 2021

It is all systems go for 2022 boot Düsseldorf with the next staging of the trade fair on January 22-30 at the fairgrounds in Düsseldorf, Germany. Organizers expect more than 1,500 exhibitors from over 50 countries, filling 17 exhibition halls and 220,000 square meters of exhibit space for water sports enthusiasts.

Show organizer Messe Düsseldorf had to cancel boot Düsseldorf for 2021 due to the ongoing pandemic and the associated worldwide lockdown measures. After initially postponing the world’s leading water sports trade fair from January 23-31 to April 17-25, the focus shifted to 2022.

“The international boat shows of the past few weeks have once again given the industry a powerful tailwind,” said Wolfram Diener, President & CEO of Messe Düsseldorf. “The atmosphere at trade fairs and sailing events such as the Travemünder and Kieler Woche was fantastic. Athletes and the industry are simply happy to be able to meet in person again. With the COVID 3G rule (vaccinated, tested or recovered) in force, nothing stands in the way of a successful boot Düsseldorf.”

The majority of the companies come from the traditional seafaring countries with large sail and motorboat yards: Italy, followed by the Netherlands, France and Great Britain. Among the countries outside Europe, the U.S. is in the lead. With Egypt, Mauritius, the Maldives, Madagascar, Indonesia and Palau, many popular and more distant diving destinations have returned to boot. Overall, manufacturers, destinations and retailers from 53 countries will take part.
