A $26 Million Sailing Powerhouse

Published on July 31st, 2023

When among charter catamarans, it is a wonder why they have masts and sails. A design trend toward passenger space has made them nearly un-sailable, with engine use as the primary propellant. So it was with wonderment that we gazed at the 110-foot catamaran that really sails. Here is the report from autoevolution:

A yachting enthusiast became the lucky owner of a sailing catamaran back named Mousetrap back in 2012. For more than ten years, he fully enjoyed his new toy. Most luxury yacht owners quickly become serial owners, meaning they switch to bigger and better options on a regular basis.

Plus, they hardly get to spend time onboard their expensive possessions. More often, they share their luxury floating toys with charter customers. Mousetrap, however, enjoyed exclusive ownership for more than a decade and got to travel the world.

This majestic sailing catamaran has proven its prowess throughout the years. It crossed both the Atlantic and the Pacific. It discovered secretive islands and mysterious bays thanks to its shallow draft and streamlined silhouette. – Full report
