Rose on podium at ILCA 6 Women’s Worlds

In advance of the US Olympic Trials for the Women’s One Person Dinghy on February 17-24, American Charlotte Rose (above, left) threw down a massive marker by finishing second at the 2024 ILCA 6 Women’s World Championship held on January 5-10 in Mar del Plata, Argentina.

In a field of 101 boats from 46 countries, Rose won two of the 11 races amid the medal favorites for Paris 2024, finishing behind the 2020 Olympic champion Anne-Marie Rindom (DEN) with 2021 World Champion Emma Plasschaert (BEL) in third.

Rose, a two-time winner at both the Youth Sailing World Championship and College Singlehanded Championship, the Jacksonville University 2022 graduate experienced the full range of conditions en route to the podium. She will now turn her attention to the USA Trials and the anticipated battle with Erika Reineke to earn selection for the Paris 2024 Olympics. – Details
