Next finisher for Global Solo Challenge

Andrea Mura (ITA) on his Open 50 Vento di Sardegna is expected to be the third finisher in the 2023-24 Global Solo Challenge, with his arrival on March 16 or 17 in A Coruña, Spain. Of the initial 16 starters, more than half have been forced to retire for a variety of reasons, from dismastings to collisions and equipment failures. Only seven are poised to complete their circumnavigation, with Philippe Delamare (FRA) finishing on February 24 followed by Cole Brauer (USA) on March 7.

The inaugural Global Solo Challenge 2023-24 seeks to be a budget-friendly solo, non-stop race around the world. Using a pursuit format for the 2023-24 race, 20 entrants from 34 to 70 feet have start times between August 26 to January 6 from A Coruña, Spain, with the first boat to return deemed the winner.
