Race to Alaska Podcast

Published on April 4th, 2024

The Race to Alaska will hold its 8th edition in 2024, continuing with its 750-mile course from Port Townsend, WA to Ketchikan, AK. And now there is a podcast series prior to the June 9 start. This episode introduces a trio of sailors, two of whom will meet face to face for the first time just days before the race start, and an R2AK volunteer superstar making a solo bid aboard his liveaboard Contessa 26:

Team Spare Parts
Aboard their noble Peterson 27 Geronimo, this team is bringing tens of thousands of ocean miles, a couple of USCG Captain licenses, two professional riggers, and the dream of a Ketchikan homecoming.

Team Fairly Fleabag
Last year, Liam Pareis was given the “Volunteer Of The Year” award at the annual R2AK Blazer Party. It carried with it no prize whatsoever, and he quickly got back to doing dishes or something. The epitome of Canadian nice-ness, Liam is set to smile his way, solo, to Ketchikan.
