As California begins to recover from the devastation caused by wildfires, President-elect Donald Trump has assured the public that Los Angeles 2028 “will go ahead as planned.” Organizers dismissed any risks and vowed to deliver an unforgettable Games, one that will open a bold new chapter in history.
Amid the destruction wreaked along the West Coast of the United States, Trump and Casey Wasserman, chair of the Los Angeles 2028 organizing committee, reiterated their unwavering commitment to hosting the Summer Olympics in the city. Speaking at a meeting held at Mar-a-Lago, Trump declared that the LA28 Games would be “the grandest in the country’s history,” despite concerns sparked by the ongoing climate crisis. – Full report

* World Sailing voted to keep the Paris 2024 Sailing Program for Los Angeles 2028, but the program is not final until the IOC approves all events, which usually occurs between December 2024 and January 2025. At that time, the IOC will also confirm the quota for sailing and how many medals.
