Some new, some tested for 2027 SailGP

Published on May 20th, 2026

With the sixth season of the SailGP global circuit nearing the mid-point, the league has released the 2027 calendar which again has 13 events for Season 7.

“With each season we ask ourselves the same question: how do we make this bigger, bolder and better – on par with the world’s leading sporting properties,” said SailGP CEO and co-founder Sir Russell Coutts.

“Not just more events, but events in world-class, iconic destinations, where we can become a standout showcase on the sporting calendar, with partners who understand the value of staging an annual event that becomes inextricably linked with their city and country.”

Teams will travel across five continents, with the season getting underway at a new venue on January 23-24, with teams competing along China’s southern coast of Hong Kong.

The heavy-air chaos of Perth will occur again, as will the San Francisco stadium, a staple for the first five seasons but left off the 2026 series. The North American leg also includes Bermuda, Halifax, and New York City.

With the Northern Hemisphere warming, the league crosses the Atlantic for the Europe’s summer stretch before the final sprint of Rio de Janeiro and Dubai before the winner-takes-all Rolex SailGP Championship Grand Final, with the host venue still to be confirmed.

2027 Season calendar:
Jan 23-24 – Hong Kong
