New chief of record-breaking foiler

Published on April 4th, 2026

After the June 2025 announcement that Ferrari would partner with Italian yachtsman Giovanni Soldini to launch a record-breaking foiling 100-foot monohull, news now comes that Soldini has been released from the Ferrari Hypersail project.

Soldini had raced and pursued records for Maserati on a VO70 and MOD70 from 2012 to 2024, but now Enrico Voltolini takes on the role of Project Leader. A naval engineer and sailor with experience in high-performance environments such as the America’s Cup and SailGP, Voltolini has worked alongside Soldini and brings a profile aligned with the requirements of the new development and validation phase.

Ferrari also revealed the completion of the design and construction phase, marking the transition to a new operational stage focused on system integration and the further development of the performance of the 100-foot flying monohull. The project, which also includes Glenn Ashby and Guillaume Verdier, was originally scheduled to launch in 2026.
