The Mini Transat is the single-handed transatlantic ocean race created in 1977 by Bob Solomon for the smallest regatta yachts: the Mini 6.50. This race is now a legend and gathers every two years sailors to share solidarity, mutual aid and respect in a course of more of 4,000 miles with no external assistance.
The 19th edition of the Mini-Transat will depart from Douarnenez, France on October 13, 2013, and will arrive in Pointe-à-Pitre in Guadaloupe, with a stopover in the Canary islands. The arrival in the Canary Islands is expected to be between 23 and 26 of October, a restart on 9 or 10 of November, with the finish in Guadeloupe to between 23 and 30 of November.
David Raison designed the winner of 2011 Mini Transat, proving his scow concept was ideal for the class and race. Giancarlo Pedote bought the winning boat and will compete in the 2013 edition.
