Not this year

Published on August 26th, 2013

Due to a lack of good weather on the entire route between Los Angeles and Honolulu, Alain Thébault and his crew have abandoned the Transpacific record this year. The team was to sail their extraordinary foiling Hydroptere to set a new elapsed time. The boat will remain in California this winter. In the meanwhile, Alain Thébault, Anders Bringdal, Philippe Perrier and Boris Prat began working on Hydroptere Rocket, a project of high speed over three years. The target is 100 knots. The first ship is expected to be launched next spring.
