Coville remains on standby for record attempt

Published on December 3rd, 2013

When skipper Thomas Coville (FRA) aborted his attempt to set a new solo around the world record on Nov. 13 after only one day, a result of minor gear failure on his 31m maxi-trimaran Sodebo, his team anticipated another weather window developing within a week. However, the forecast had deteriorated by Nov. 18, and though Coville is now ready to go, he remains on standby in Brest with a deadline of Jan. 15.
