Thomas Coville launches record assault

Skipper Thomas Coville (FRA) began his assault on the solo around the world record on Saturday (Jan. 18), crossing the starting line at Créac’h Lighthouse located on the island of Ouessant. Sailing his 31m maxi-trimaran Sodebo, Coville trailed the pace of record holder Francis Joyon by 63 miles as of Jan. 19 22:46 TU. Joyon set the record of 57d 13h 34m 6s in January 2008. Team website.
