New Around Britain and Ireland Monohull 40ft and less Record

The World Sailing Speed Record Council has ratified of a new Around Britain and Ireland Monohull 40ft and less world record. Set by Roderick Knowles (GBR) and crew on the Class 40 Swish on August 11 – 20, the new 1733nm record is 8 days 19 hours 6 minutes and 49 seconds (average speed 8.4 knots). The previous record of 9d 13h 32m 20s was set by Ned Collier-Wakefield (GBR) and crew on the Concise 2 in August 2010. Source
