Rios and Guaragna win Snipe’s Don Q

Miami, FL (March 22, 2015) – With the last race completing the 49th Snipe Don Q Regatta in Miami today, Raul Rios of Puerto Rico, sailing with Miami’s Andre Guaragna held on to their lead to win the regatta. The team finished today’s race in 9th, enough to beat Miamians Augie Diaz and Kathleen Tocke by 4 points, who crossed the finish line just behind Team Rios. Argentinians and Snipe World Championship runners-up Louis Soubie and Diego Lipszyc won today’s race, bringing the team up from fifth after yesterday to finish third overall today.

The Don Q Regatta (Mar 20-22) is the second stop on the Snipe Winter Circuit, which began with the Snipe Midwinters on March 15-17 in Clearwater, FL. After the Miami stop, the fleet will move across the Gulf Stream to Nassau, Bahamas where Snipe sailors will compete in the annual Bacard Cup and the Gamblin championship on March 25-29.
