No changes at top of Laser Radial Youth World Championships

Kingston, ON (August 19, 2015) – As the finals began today at the Laser Radial Youth World Championships following four days of qualifying, three races were completed by all fleets, with winds beginning at 15 knots and lowering throughout the day.

In the 142-boat male division, Conor Nicholas, Australia, holds onto his lead for the 5th consecutive day. Italian Gianmarco Planchestainer, sits in 2nd place and will be fighting for the top spot on the podium tomorrow, as Planchestainer is only one point behind Nicholas. Nic Baird, United States, moves up to 3rd, with Paolo Giargia, Italy in 4th and Umberto José Varbaro, Italy, in 5th.

In the 53-boat female division, regatta leader Mária Érdi, Hungary, holds a strong lead going into the final day of racing. Dolores Moreira, Uruguay sits in 2nd, with Magdalena Kwasna, Poland, in 3rd.

Tomorrow is the final day of racing with two races scheduled and the first signal at 1130.
