New World Singlehanded 24 Hour Record

The World Sailing Speed Record Council have ratified a new world singlehanded 24 hour record, set June 7-8 by Thomas Coville (FRA) on the 120-foot trimaran Sodebo 4. Coville covered a distance of 718.5 nm (avg speed 29.93 kts), bettering the previous mark of 682.8 nm (28.45 kts) set by Armel Le Cleac’h (FRA) on the 105-foot trimaran Banque Populaire 7 in 2014.
