Tragedy in Monterey Bay race

Monterey, CA (March 14, 2019) – Rick Srigley of Pebble Beach, CA was swept overboard and killed yesterday during the Monterey Peninsula Yacht Club evening race series. Srigley was crew on the Moore 24 Morpheus when the boat encountered heavy weather off the Monterey coast and he was washed overboard off the transom. While his crew was able to reach him, they were unable to get him out. He was recovered by the Coast Guard which took him by ambulance to the hospital where he passed away as a result of the evening’s events.
