World Sailing Rankings – April 2019

The World Sailing Rankings seek to establish an order of ability based on the results of certain events over a 24 month period. The rankings focus on the 10 Olympic events and Open and Women’s Match Racing.
In match racing, Eric Monnin (SUI) has overtaken Ian Williams (GBR) at the top of the Open rankings, with Harry Price (AUS) now in third. Among the women, Pauline Courtois (FRA) maintains her position at the front of the field while Trine Palludan (DEN) and Anna Oestling (SWE) have switched positions, with Palludan now in second and Oestling in third. Top North Americans are Nicole Breault (USA) and Chris Poole (USA) in 8th and 13th, respectively.
The fleet racing rankings in which the North Americans are in the top 20 include Canadians Tom Ramshaw (8th, Finn), Sarah Douglas (15th, Laser Radial) and the following from the USA: Stu McNay/ Dave Hughes (5th, 470 Men), Paige Railey (4th, USA), Erika Reineke (12th, Laser Radial), Stephanie Roble/ Maggie Shea (12th, 49erFX Women), Charlie Buckingham (12th, Laser), Chris Barnard (19th, Laser), and Riley Gibbs/ Anna Weis (14th, Nacra 17).
