Proctor leads Lightning North Americans

Point Abino, ONT (August 15, 2019) – The penultimate day at the Lightning North American Championship completed two more races with Ched Proctor and his team of Samuel Blouin and Monica Morgan owning the day with a 3-1 to take the overall lead.

“Sam is a great tactician which allowed me and Monica to focus on boat speed,” said Proctor. “We were able to sail in clean lanes, stay in pressure and the lifted tack.”

David Starck, who led entering the day, now sits in second, five points behind Proctor after posting a 2-15.

The sixth and final race of the series is scheduled for tomorrow which triggers a discard.

Bob Martin, currently in third, could benefit massively with the discard as he’s the only team with one score out of the top five.

Seventy-two teams are racing from August 12 to 16.
