Dobson bests Fireball North Americans

Pointe-Claire, Quebec (August 23, 2019) – The 2019 Fireball North American Championship was held over August 21-23. Six races were scheduled as a warm up to the 2019 Fireball World Championship hosted by Pointe-Claire Yacht Club. Forty teams from 11 countries participated.

After five races were completed to end the regatta, Ian Dobson with crew Richard Wagstaff (GBR) won the North American Championship with 6 points, 4 points better than second place Claude Mermot and Ruedi Moser (SUI). Finishing third with 14 points was local team Joe Jospe and Tom Egli (CAN).

The World Championship will take place August 25 – 30. Ten races are scheduled with a lay day mid-regatta.
