New Around Britain and Ireland record

The World Sailing Speed Record Council have confirmed a new outright world record for the Around Britain and Ireland course in a 40-footer. On August 17-24, Simon Koster (SUI) along with Justine Mettraux and Valentin Gautier on the Class40 yacht Banque de Leman set an elapsed time of 7 days 6 hours 27 minutes and 25 seconds (10.16 kts). The previous record of 7d 17h 50m 47s was set by Ian Lipinski (FRA) on July 2020.
