ICSA seeks Executive Director position

Published on March 8th, 2022

As part of its 2021 and Beyond plan, the Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association (ICSA) has initiated a search for an Executive Director to lead operations across the seven ICSA conferences.

This position, the first full-time role hired by the ICSA, is tasked with expanding the resources offered by the organization, focusing on the existing robust competition, and supporting established and developing teams across North America that race in the eight disciplines.

The ICSA will continue its legacy as a volunteer-led organization since students organized the first intercollegiate competitions more than 90 years ago.

The addition of an executive director will enable the Board of Directors and committees to focus on specific initiatives promoting college sailing, most notably the execution of an expansion of National Championship offerings, additional support for its constituent schools, and further support for diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.

“This is a huge step for the ICSA,” said Blaine Pedlow, chair of the Executive Director search committee. “Full-time professional leadership will allow the ICSA to serve our diverse constituents across the US and Canada and develop more opportunities for college sailors. I’m excited to see what this new role can do to support our sailors, our volunteers and our board of directors.”

The ICSA anticipates announcing a hire by June 2022.
