Buccaneer North American Championship

Twenty-one teams participated in the 2023 Buccaneer North American Championship held September 29-October 1 in Niantic, CT. With competitors from across the USA for the 52nd edition, Jeff Neurater and Heather Howard (Washington, DC) claimed the title in the 13-race series.

Rain, cool temperatures, and 12-18 knot winds characterized the first two days, with clearing skies and more moderate conditions for the final three races on the third day.

During the championship, the class honored the memory of Dave Nickels, founder of Nickels Boat Works, who had been the class builder since 2004.
