Seahorse magazine hosts a monthly poll to recognize recent achievement, and Scuttlebutt is leaning in to support North American interests:

… and her Cal 40 Restless. So many great sailors have raced Cal 40s in the Transpac over the years that Bell and her crew walk in some famous footsteps. However, only a few of them have taken overall honors for the legendary 2,225nm course. And for all bar a few hours of their 12d 12h crossing, Restless sat firmly atop the corrected-time standings. Well, this is an Admiral’s Cup and Fastnet Race year – feels pretty good just to be saying that again – so surely this is the month to pay tribute to a legend of Brazilian yachting who has a few Admiral’s Cups under his belt himself. Now in his 90th year, Penteado is still out there giving no quarter every weekend racing his First 36. At this year’s Ilhabela Sailing Week in São Paulo, South America’s biggest keelboat regatta, the 90-year-old skipper finished 3rd in ORC Class B. Nay bad, laddie
