Not an insult, just straight up annoying

At Scuttlebutt HQ, we know the ‘scuttlebutt’ name is not unique and recognize several popular businesses that use it, but we don’t love how Scuttlebutt has made this list: 10 Unreasonably Annoying Moments In Recent Movies.

We had previously reported in 2023 how an American musical fantasy film, The Little Mermaid, included a song – The Scuttlebutt – which was a bit tortuous, or as a reviewer in Rolling Stone magazine said, “I don’t believe you can sue someone for aural trauma caused by terrible music, but ‘Scuttlebutt’ would be worthy of a criminal trial.”

Coming in as the third most annoying movie moment, the movie review noted:

“Some of the entries on this list are annoying because they represent a huge gap in a movie’s logic, they missed an opportunity, or they took the fun out of something that was supposed to be nothing but fun. Essentially, it’s easy to feel short-changed as a member of the audience.

“However, this entry doesn’t quite go that deep. It’s not an insult to those watching, it’s just straight up annoying, and it comes in the form of yet another Disney remake.” – Full report
