PHOTOS: Two hulls, Different eras

Fifty years of technology on the same race course. The 1970s red cedar Tornado Fast Furniture and the modern Flying Phantom were two of the 18 boat fleet that competed in the 2019 Wayward Winds Regatta hosted by Texas City Dike Yacht Club near Houston, TX. Fast Furniture raced competitively on Galveston Bay in the ‘80s and 90s. She was fully restored in 2017 for Lakewood Yacht Club’s Keels & Wheels event and competes in 2-3 regattas across Texas each year. – Scott Tuma
