World Sailing Speed Record Council Ratifies Spindrift 2 Records

The World Sailing Speed Record Council has ratified two records set by Dona Bertarelli and Yann Guichard and 12 crew during their 2015-16 attempt to win the Jules Verne Trophy on the 40m trimaran Spindrift 2.

Record: North Atlantic RTW Intermediate Record
Course: Ushant (FRA) start to Equator; for Round the World attempts starting at Ushant.
Dates: November 22-27, 2015
Elapsed time: 4 days 21 hours 43 minutes and 2 seconds
Previous record: Initial WSSR World Record

Record: Indian Ocean Intermediate Record
Course: From Cape Agulhas, crossing the meridian 20° E, to the southern point of Tasmania, South East Cape, crossing the meridian 146° 49′.E.
Dates: December 4-12, 2015
Elapsed time: 8 days 4 hours and 45 minutes.
