Chilean fight at Lightning Winter Champs

St. Petersburg, FL (March 23, 2019) – The final day at the Lightning Winter Championship needed just one race to complete the 7-race series, and it would prove pivotal to the overall standings. After day two leader Felipe Robles (CHI) used their discard for a starting penalty, it opened the door for Tito Gonzalez (CHI) and crew Trini Gonzalez and Alberto Gonzalez Jr (above) to bury their countryman today to take the title. With Gonzalez and Robles finishing 34-35, that shuffled the standings for David Starck to finish second followed by Steve Kirkpatrick and Ched Proctor with Robles down in fifth.
