Council confirms new Fastnet record

The World Sailing Record Council has confirmed a new World Record for the 595nm Fastnet Course from Cowes, around Fastnet Rock, and finish in Plymouth. Giovanni Soldini (ITA) and a crew of six on the 70-foot trimaran Maserati70 completed the course on May 7-8 in a time of 23:51:16 (24.94 knots avg speed) to eclipse the time by Peter Cunningham’s MOD70 PowerPlay of 01:01:04:18 set in April 2021.
