The May episode of the World Sailing Show gets underway with the fleet in this year’s 52 Super Series. Just over seven months since Quantum Racing won the 2024 title, the fleet were back on the water in Saint-Tropez.

Thirteen teams from 10 nations will compete over five regattas in what has been billed as the most competitive season yet. Racing got underway on day two as the wind picked up and was close going into the last day, with further weather delays adding to the drama as two teams headed into the final race level on points at the top of the leaderboard.

Shortly after the Princess Sofia regatta wrapped up, it was time for the second stop on the new sailing Grand Slam series in Hyères, as part of the 56th Semaine Olympique Francaise, where 729 competitors were taking to the water in all Olympic classes. World Sailing Show has all the action and interviews with the winners.

Ten elite skippers descended on Long Beach, California, for the 60th Congressional Cup. After a double round robin, Switzerland’s Eric Monnin and back-to-back Congressional Cup winner Chris Poole of the USA booked their semi-final spots early. The pair would face off again in the final where the coveted Crimson blazer was up for grabs.

Next, the World Sailing show heads to Concarneau in North-West France for the start of the Transat Paprec, a double-handed mixed crew race which aims to unearth the next generation of offshore stars. Vendée Globe winner Charlie Dalin – winner of the 2012 edition – was shoreside to see the fleet of 38 sailors off on the three-week voyage across to St. Barts in the Caribbean.
