On this week’s “World on Water” global sailing news show:
In this episode, the Volvo Ocean Race is hotting up and we show how to build a a VOR 65, “This is Spindrift Racing” is a look at Donna Bertarelli and Yann Guichard Spindrift racing which runs six boats for four complementary projects: a trimaran MOD70 (Spindrift), a Decision 35 catamaran (Ladycat powered by Spindrift racing), two trimarans Diam 24, a GC32 foiling catamaran and the huge 40 metre maxi-trimaran (Spindrift 2).

“Gitana 17” known as Edmond De Rothschild was launched last week and it was designed by naval architect Guillaume Verdier and his team in collaboration with the Gitana design office. The Maxi Edmond de Rothschild will be part Archimedean boat (submerged hull), part flying craft. Indeed, Gitana Team’s game plan is to develop the offshore racing’s first flying maxi-multihull by 2020.

Randy Cunningham takes us to the “Boat Park” at the McDougall + McConaghy Moth Worlds and then the racing on Lake Garda, next the “Duck Race” at Lake Union, Day 2 at the Fuerteventura PWA World Cup on Saturday July 22, Act 4 Extreme Sailing Series in Barcelona, Spain and Oman Air fly away. Also a look at the 35th Americas Cup winning AC Class ETNZ at full speed.
