Sail Canada Sailor of the Month

Published on July 16th, 2019

Sail Canada’s Sailor of the Month award acknowledges sailing achievements by Canadians involved or associated with the sport in all its forms. Here is the latest recipient:

Kieler Woche, also known to many as Kiel Week, took place June 22-30 in Germany. As a prominent event on the Olympic class circuit, this event also encompasses sailors of all classes welcoming thousands of athletes to compete on an international scale.

Well known Canadian Laser Radial sailor, Tayte Stefaniuk (RNSYS), is no rookie to international competitions. Pushing his way to be amongst the strongest in his age group, this athlete showed us how hard work pays off. Keeping to the top of the fleet with multiple first-place finishes throughout the week, Tayte finished the event 4th out of 125 boats.

This sailor continues to make Canada proud as he also finished top North American Boat at the 2019 Youth Laser Radial Europeans in Athens, Greece with an 18th place finish.

Congratulations to the Helly Hansen Sailor of the Month – Tayte Stefaniuk.
